I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. Demille.

Remember how I said I had a better photo of me someplace?
Well, I found it.

This was taken 1) after I'd had a bath and 2) back when we had some grass. We could use both about now.

But seriously, don't you think I could be in the movies? If you agree, please contact my agent. Or, let's do lunch or something.

Manna

Many thanks to our friend The Wind for blowing this down in our neighbor's yard. (And many thanks to our wonderful neighbors for not wanting it. We are sorry we bark at you sometimes.)

I chewed on this for the better part of an afternoon, and then went inside to take a nap. When I came outside...poof. It was firewood.

You snooze, you lose. Seriously.

Bad Hair Day

Yeah, I have them too. Sometimes a girl just doesn't have time to run a comb through her hair in the morning, and this was just one of those mornings. I had to get to work. The neighborhood was teeming with squirrels this morning, and it's my job to let them know they're not welcome here. Especially in my water bowl, which tastes a little funny this morning. And I don't mean "ha ha" funny.

I know I've got a good picture of me someplace here. Give me some time and I'll find it for you.

P. S. No, that's not a dead squirrel in my mouth.

It's hot here!

From the looks of our profile picture, you'd think we live in a lush, green paradise, watered daily with a fancy sprinkler system that comes on every evening during cocktail hour. Ha! We've just come in from the porch, where the temp reads 102 degrees. (Just so you know, that photo was taken about two years ago, back when we had grass.)

If you're reading this someplace where it's comfortable to nap on the grass during the day, you should be a very happy person. Or dog. It's summer here in Texas, and we're not exactly thrilled about it. We spend 10 or 15 minutes outside a few times a day, but it's just too hot to really enjoy our favorite spots in the yard. Our time nowadays is much better spent indoors on the cold, cement floor. Or on a bed or couch. From what our friends tell us, we lead a fairly comfortable existence.

We just barked at some people walking by, and just because we came when she called, we got treats. Hilarious. We were just hot.
